Recent developments in topological states of matter and strongly correlated systems have made condensed matter physics a field of both conceptual deepness and application potential. In the last few years, it has been understood that strong interaction and topology together significantly enrich the states of matter and phenomena in condensed matter systems. Theoretically, new states of matter such as symmetry protected/enriched topological phases were proposed and are currently under active study; experimentally, new materials and structures were synthesized, and these systems demonstrate remarkable properties such as high temperature superconductivity, non-fermi liquid behavior, spin liquid behaviors, Majorana fermion zero mode, etc. Motivated by all these exciting accomplishments in this field, we organize this small scale summer program to communicate about recent progresses, and envision future directions.
