Title: Spin-Imbalaned Fermi Gases

Speaker: Han Pu, Associate Professor of Physics

Rice University

Abstract:Spin-imbalance Fermi gases have received tremendous attention over the past few years, partially because of the exotic

superfluid phases --- in particular the FFLO phase --- predicted to exist in such a system. Nevertheless, no direct evidence of FFLO

has been found in the experiment so far. In this talk, I shall review the experimental status and present our theoretical study of

this system, including the existence of metastable states, dimensional crossover, and expansion dynamics of a 1D spin-

imbalanced Fermi gas.
