题 目: Unfolding hidden information in density profiles of quantum gases: from thermometry to quantum criticality

报 告 人: Qi Zhou 博士 University of Maryland

报告摘要:One of the great challenges in current studies on quantum gases is that many important thermodynamic quantities have eluded from experiments. In this talk, I will show how to reveal useful information hidden in density profiles of trapped atoms. I will first discuss a universal thermometry, which needs only the density profile as input and is independent on any numerical simulation. I will then focus on how to extract information of quantum criticality in quantum gases from density profiles. A scheme to remove finite size effects in a power-law trap will also be discussed.
